The Davos Baukultur Quality System
The Davos Baukultur Quality System is a contribution to the ongoing Davos Process. It proposes a multidimensional approach to defining the holistic concept of high-quality Baukultur. The Quality System presents eight criteria, distilled from the Davos Declaration, to assess the Baukultur quality of places.
The Davos Declaration and the Davos Process
In January 2018, the European Ministers of Culture adopted the Davos Declaration “Towards a high-quality Baukultur for Europe”. It highlights pathways for politically and strategically promoting the concept of high-quality Baukultur. It reminds us that building is culture and creates space for culture.
The Davos Declaration marks the starting point of the ongoing Davos Process. It continues the discourse of Baukultur with two pillars. The first pillar focuses on the scientific and content discourse. The concept of Baukultur and core terms of the Declaration are scientifically consolidated. The second pillar focuses on the strategic and political discourse through international conferences and debates on a political level and the implementation of culture-centred policies.
